An enchanting evening of music, performed on the Grand Organ of York Minster. Celebrating the central role of pipe organs in the spookier side of cinema, Andrew Forbes brings his own brand of magic to a spellbinding programme featuring newly commissioned arrangements of music from the beloved Harry Potter film franchise.

Iconic film scores by John Williams (Hedwig’s Theme and Harry’s Wondrous World), Alexandre Desplat (Statues and Farewell to Dobby), Nicholas Hooper (Ministry of Magic) and Patrick Doyle (Hogwarts’ Hymn), plus arrangements of orchestral music by Gounod, Holst, and Stravinsky, will be heard alongside a ‘thrilling’ classic by Michael Jackson and fabulous pieces of original organ music by J S Bach, Cecilia McDowall, and Louis Vierne.
